The Annual China-Japan-Korea Laparoscopic Gastric Cancer Joint Conference (the 11th) was held in Shanghai as scheduled. Top-notch experts in laparoscopic gastric cancer from China, Japan and Korea attended this conference, which represented the highest level of laparoscopic gastric cancer in the world.
At the invitation of the organizing committee, Associate Professor Fan Lin from Department of General Surgery of our hospital went to Shanghai to attend the conference and delivered a keynote speech. During the conference, as the only representative of delivering speech in northwest of China, Associate Professor Fan Lin delivered an English academic lecture of “Thoughts about the Problems in Hepatic Branch of Vagus-sparing LADG”. With wonderful speech and high-definition surgery video, he shared the nerve preservation in laparoscopic radical gastrectomy initiated by Department of General Surgery of our hospital to international counterparts without reservation. In addition, he discussed nerve preservation and function preservation surgery in laparoscopic radical gastrectomy on the basis of detailed clinical data. It showed the international advanced level of Department of General Surgery of our hospital in this field and was highly recognized by participating experts.
It is reported that the joint conference is held by Japan, China and Korea in turn annually and only recognized top-notch experts in laparoscopic gastric cancer surgery of these participating countries are invited. Some participating experts are constitutors and authors of international guidelines for treatment of gastric cancer. The annual joint conference represents the highest academic stage of laparoscopic gastric cancer surgery worldwide at present. Associate Professor Fan Lin from Department of General Surgery of our hospital is the first one who is invited as a representative in northwest China to deliver a keynote speech in the joint conference, which further establishes the leading position of Department of General Surgery of our hospital in laparoscopic gastric cancer surgery.
