Formally invited by Professor Steve Hyman of the Broad Institute and Professor Mark Daly and Doctor Hailiang Huang of the MGH Translational Medicine Center, Professor Ma Xiancang, the Assistant to the President, from Department of Psychiatryof our hospital who is a visiting scholar at University of Buffalo, USA came to the MGH and Broad Institute for academic visit during July 12-13, 2016.

During the visit, Professor Ma Xiancang fully exchanged and discussed with Steve Hyman, Mark Daly, Ben Neale, and Hailiang Huang. The two parties first summarized the data of previous cooperation projects. Steve Hyman, Mark Daly, Hailiang Huang and other professors spoke highly of the preliminary data of Department of psychiatry of our hospital. Subsequently, the two sides held full discussions and exchanges and reached many consensuses on follow-up cooperation projects and ways of cooperation, project funding, co-cultivation of students and talents, and establishment of the Western China Center of Stanley Center of Broad Institute. Professor Ma Xiancang formally invited Steve Hyman, Mark Daly and Hailiang Huang to visit our hospital in the first half of 2017, and they accepted the invitation with pleasure.

It is reported that Steve Hyman, Mark Daly, Hailiang Huang and other several professors are top international scientists in Schizophrenia Genome Research and have published many research papers in international famous journals such asNatureandScience. Both parties agreed that, in the process of cooperation, it needs to extend mutual trust, support and respect,full cooperation andcomplementary advantages to achieve a win-win situation. Both parties are full of confidence in the cooperation of future projects.
