During November 22-23, the delegation led by Wang Shuguo, President of Xi’an Jiaotong University, visited Leiden University in the company of President Shi Bingyin on behalf of the First Affiliated Hospital. Professor Carel Stolker, President of Leiden University, Professor Hester Bijl, Vice President, and Professor Pancras Hogendoorn, Dean of Medical Center of Leiden University, met with the delegation.
On November 22, President Shi Bingyin and Professor Ye Kai paid a special visit to Medical Center of Leiden University and they met with 6 professors from tumor department, endocrinology department and epidemiology and 5 directors from departments of Medical Center such as postgraduate teaching and student exchange led by Pancras Hogendoorn, Dean of the Medical Center. Cordial talks and exchange were made by two parties in Leiden University. With mutual introduction about current situation of medical treatment, scientific research and teaching, they reached a consensus in several aspects such as direction of scientific research cooperation, exchange visits of medical experts and student exchange. In addition, they established comprehensive cooperation in endocrine, tumor and aging, which laid the long-term cooperative relationship between our hospital and Leiden University.
On November 23, President Shi Bingyin accompanied President Wang Shuguo to visit Asian Library of Leiden University, Faculty of Humanities, Scientific Center Building and internal platforms such as biology laboratory, high-throughput drug, toxicological screening laboratory and animal center. President Wang, on behalf of the Institute of Science and Technology of Xi’an Jiaotong University, signed Cooperation Agreement about exchanges of teachers and students with Faculty of Science of Leiden University.
