A total of 6 cases of total arterial coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is executed by Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of our hospital under the leadership of academic leader Professor Sun Li (adjunct professor of American Washington DC Central Hospital) in succession, filling several technology gaps of double internal mammary artery bypass treating serious coronary heart disease nationwide.

Coronal atherosclerosis heart disease (coronary heart disease) is a killer seriously affecting human health worldwide. CABG is a standard method to treat serious coronary heart disease at present and its surgical effect is closely related to preoperative condition, process of atherosclerosis of coronary artery and patency of transplanted bypass vessels. Internal mammary artery is the mostly selected transplantation material for arterial bypass. Its patency rate is 98% one year after bypass surgery and about 95% after 10 years. In coronary artery bypass surgery, the artery shall be selected as bypass material as far as possible, which is the key to guarantee long-term effect of the surgery. The total arterial bypass is the most perfect surgery.

“Double internal mammary arteries, no touch, non-stop total arterial CABG” is a top-notch total arterial CABG technology of the best clinical effect on patients and the highest requirements for skills of the surgeons. Recently, a total of 6 cases of total arterial CABG is executed by Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of our hospital under the leadership of academic leader Professor Sun Li (adjunct professor of American Washington DC Central Hospital) in succession, which included several high, precise and cutting-edge technologies with double internal mammary, internal mammary artery sequential treatment and in situ internal mammary artery sequential treatment for multi-vessel diseases, filling several technology gaps of double internal mammary artery bypass treating serious coronary heart disease nationwide.

In recent years, based on its advantages of platform, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery integrates superior resources continuously with the commitment to establish exchanges and cooperation platforms of Department of Cardiovascular Surgery between China and America. With internationally advanced ideas and clinical techniques introduced to the hospital to promote continuous increase for the strength of Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, patients of Shaanxi and even the Northwest of China may also enjoy internationally synchronized and more advanced medical techniques.
