On May 23,2022, China-Africa counterpart hospital cooperation mechanism project meeting was held in Health Commission of Shaanxi Province. Yu Liping, Deputy Director of Health Commission of Shaanxi Province, Wang Hui, the first-level inspector, Xiao Hui,the third-level inspector, and representatives in charge of Department of Laws and Regulations, Hospital Administration Bureau, Department of Maternal and Child Affairs, Finance Department and Foreign Affairs Department of Talent Service and Foreign Affairs Center of Health Commission of Shaanxi Province, She Junjun, Assistant-to-President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), and heads of Clinical Laboratory, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Department of Medical Imaging, Ultrasound Department,International Exchange Office attended the meeting. Bilateral sides delivered discussion regarding Joint Application for Construction of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Kamzu Central Hospital in Malawi and Joint Application for Construction of Department of Radiology and Clinical Laboratory of Mzuzu Central Hospital in Malawi. The meeting was presided over by Wang Hui.
In January, 2022, Project Document of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong Universityfor Improving Diagnosis and Treatment Capability of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Kamzu Central Hospital in Malawi passed the evaluation. In addition, Comprehensive Platform Construction Project of Improving Diagnosis and Treatment Capability of Department of Radiology and Clinical Laboratory of Mzuzu Central Hospital in Malawi was approved after revision. Subsequently, our hospital submitted a report on the revision of the proposal according to the revision suggestions provided by the national expert group.
Director Wang Hui fully approved preliminary preparation and promotion work conducted by our hospital for these projects. Assistant-to-President She Junjun and Ren Hui, Deputy Director of International Exchange Office reported the project progress, project declaration and implementation plan of two counterpart hospitals in Malawi, respectively. Then, the project leaders of Mzuzu Central Hospital and Kamzu Central Hospital in Malawi gave an explicit report on the revised project proposal from the perspectives of discipline construction, equipment donation, talent training, remote connection and scientific research cooperation, etc.
After the project report, leaders and experts of Health Commission of Shaanxi Province gave corresponding opinions and suggestions on the details of the project document and project implementation.
Subsequently, Yu Liping put forward three proposals: First, a smooth beginning should be ensured. The project should be implemented strictly according to the requirements by our country, catering to local conditions and effectively resolving actual needs. Secondly, project progress should be maintained strictly as scheduled. The project quality should be guaranteed, and the working mechanism should be established and modified to ensure the project progress. Third, profound effect of this project should be obtained. He highlighted the importance of result data and parameters to fully showcase social benefits and exert sustainable and long-term influence on the health construction in Malawi.
