The second lecture of IN Talk (special session for Singapore) successfully held

Recently, the second lecture of IN Talk (China & Singapore Dialogue--Special session for nursing scientific research) was successfully held. Wang Wenru, Fellow of American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) and a tenured professor from National University of Singapore, was specially invited. Liu Qingguang, Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Assistant-to-President She Junjun, Xin Xia, Director of Nursing Department, Li Jieqiong and Li Qiaoling, deputy directors of Nursing Department, Ren Hui, Deputy Director of International Exchange Office, and the representatives of head nurses and nurses of our hospital attended the event, which was chaired by Ren Hui.

First, Ren Hui introduced the background, significance and guests attending the serial activities of [IN TALK]. Liu Qingguang delivered a speech, hoping that Professor Wang Wenru and our hospital can maintain intimate communication through the construction platform of International Exchange Center and continually explore in-depth international cooperation.

Xin Xia introduced the personal information of Professor Wang Wenru. Then, Professor Wang Wenru delivered a lecture entitled Evidence-based Application of mHealth and Telemedicine in Management of Patients with Diabetes and shared the experience of telemedicine management covering the background, clinical application, development status and challenges of telemedicine application. After the lecture, the representatives of head nurses and nurses from different disciplines discussed with Professor Wang Wenru regarding relevant issues of telemedicine management of chronic diseases, such as cardiac rehabilitation and glucose level variations after pancreatic surgery,etc.

This lecture enables the participants to have deeper and more profound understanding of the application of telemedicine management, which also plays a guiding role in the current health management mode of patients with chronic diseases in our hospital. It is hoped that bilateral sides can consider this academic exchange as a starting pointto promote in-depth exchange and cooperation in scientific research and talent training in the future.

Professor Wang Wenru, a FAAN and tenured professor of National University of Singapore, has been dedicated to clinical nursing, teaching and scientific research for nearly 30 years. She mainly focused on cardiovascular nursing and cardiac rehabilitation, translation and reliability and validity research, chronic disease management and nursing education. She has published more than 190 articles in international SCI-indexed journals in the field of medicine and nursing and over 30 articles in Chinese core journals, drafted two monographs, edited two nursing textbooks as a chief editor and participated in the editing of 8 textbooks for nursing college and undergraduate students.
