On July 14, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and Omdurman Friendship Hospital in Sudan successfully held remote training activity ofthe Silk Road Action of a Community of Shared Future for Mankind Health-International Lecture on Cooperation Mechanism between Chinese and African Counterpart Hospitals (Phase I), aiming to build a telemedicine cooperation relationship between bilateral hospitals under the background of cooperation mechanism between Chinese and African counterpart hospitals, share and exchange of medical theories, medical technologies and diagnostic experiences, and strengthen medical guidance and consultation.Eighteen orthopedic medical staff including Dr. Hamed Khalil, an orthopedic expert and President of Omdurman Friendship Hospital, Dr. Hago Munir Gadelseed, Vice President of Omdurman Friendship Hospital, orthopedic physicians and nurses attended the meeting. Yin Zhanhai, Deputy Director of Department of Orthopedics in our hospital, Ren Hui, Deputy Director of International Exchange Office, head nurses and deputy head nurses from Department of Orthopedics participated in the training activities, which were presided over by Deputy Director Yin Zhanhai.
Deputy Director Yin Zhanhai first introduced the participants from Chinese side to African counterpart hospital, and briefly illustrated the background and significance of cooperation mechanism between Chinese and African counterpart hospitals. He expected that through training and exchange activities, bilateral sides can deliver in-depth communication regarding the knowledge and skills of orthopedics and make concrete efforts to effectively improve the clinical technical level of medical staff in the counterpart hospital. Deputy Director Ren Hui briefly introduced the development status and medical level of orthopedic team in our hospital.
Dr. Hamed Khalil, President of Omdurman Friendship Hospital, stated that bilateral hospitals from China and Africa started with the construction of orthopedic specialty and looked forward to expanding the scope of cooperation to various disciplines in the future, hoping a more stable and long-lasting cooperation between two sides! Vice President Dr. Hago Munir Gadelseed stressed that China-Africa friendship dates back to ancient times. Omdurman Friendship Hospital in Sudan was established and built by the Chinese government in 1995. He sincerely appreciated the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU for tremendous support and assistance to Omdurman Friendship Hospital, and expressed ardent expectations and good wishes for the construction of orthopedic specialty.
Subsequently, Ji Zhe, Attending Physician from Department of Orthopedics, delivered a training lecture entitled "The First Step From A", which started from the basic concept of joint replacement, combined theoretical knowledge with practical technology, described preoperative preparation, intraoperative process, technical operation and postoperative rehabilitation of joint replacement in illustrations and texts and showcased the conditions of patients before, during and after operation by using clinical cases. During the training, two sides carried out Q&A session about joint replacement in details.
After the training, bilateral sides further discussed how to ensure the aseptic condition of operating room and strengthen the aseptic consciousness of medical staff. Next, Department of Orthopedics from two hospitalswill establish an online communication mechanism, discuss theoretical and technical issues, deliver case presentation and consultation, and carry out Phase II training activities on arthroscopy-related technologies as scheduled.
