On October 31, eight members of China's 34th medical aid team to Sudan returned to the motherland with great honor after successfully accomplishing the mission. The 34th China’s medical aid team with 42 members to Sudan was established in early 2018. Led by our hospital, 8 members including a full-time team leader were dispatched. After 6-month pre-training and careful preparation, the medical team arrived in Sudan on October 21, 2018 and initiated 1-year medical aid mission. Adhering to the established systems, all team members intimately cooperated to showcase the spirit of ‘overcoming hardship, dedication, saving the dead and healing the wounded, and philanthropy’. They received the trust and respect from Sudanese patients and physicians with their excellent technology, enthusiasm, wisdom, hard work and painstaking spirit. Besides, team members were widely praised by the Chinese embassy in Sudan and compatriots from Chinese-funded companies. The medical aid team successfully accomplished the 1-year mission in Sudan after overcoming all kinds of difficulties in life and work. Three team members were awarded the title of "Excellent Team Member" of the medical team and received widespread recognition from domestic and foreign media.
The Chinese medical aid team in Sudan has made significant contributions to promoting the development of the health industry in Sudan, improving the health level of the Sudanese, deepening the friendship between the Chinese and African people and showcasing a positive image of Chinese medical practitioners.
