On the morning of February 12, Professor Li Xuelan, Vice Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, and Professor Liu Li from Neonatology Department of our hospital successfully accomplished the tasks of medical aids to Malawi, Africa under national appointment, marking the satisfactory completion of the first program of women and children assistance to Africa of Shaanxi Province. Secretary Ma spoke highly of these two experts assisting the medical work of Malawi and expressed his hearty thanks to them.

These two professors conducted, as the first group of members, a short-term investigation under the leadership of Health and Family Planning Commission of Shaanxi Province, aiming to investigate the local health conditions. They donated medical devices on women and children priced RMB400, 000 to Malawi, introduced the maternal and child health work experience of China, recruited the local doctors to come to our hospital for training. These two professors showed high humanitarian spirit, and accomplished the work of assistance to Africa, and made important contributions to strengthening the friendship of people in two countries and developing the China-Africa relationship.

Through the implementation of this project, the friendship between two countries was promoted. It played a role in promoting the subsequent work development of medical teams stationed abroad, and also played an important role in promoting the mutual learning of two countries. Next, our hospital will continue to keep a close contact with Malawi, so as to make our contributions to improving the behindhandmaternal and childhealth conditions of Malawi.
