The 2019 Annual Congress of European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM’19) was held in Barcelona, Spain from October 12 to 16. Professor Gao Rui from Department of Nuclear Medicine of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was invited to attend the congress for academic exchange.

During the annual congress, Professor Gao Rui delivered a speech entitled "Clinical implications of radioactive iodine-avidmetastatic lymph nodes on post-ablation whole body scans in 1-4cm differentiated thyroid cancer" and illustrated the research progress on thyroid cancer treatment in Department of Nuclear Medicine of our hospital, aiming to strength the influence of nuclear medicine specialty and thus provide better medical services for patients.

Physicians from Department of Nuclear Medicine of our hospital have been invited to present their research outcomes related to thyroid cancer treatment in the Annual Congress of Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) and EANM for several consecutive years. Annual Congress of EANM is one of the annual gatherings in the field of nuclear medicine with the highest technological level and the strongest influence worldwide, aiming to promote the scientific, technological and practical application of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging around the globe. It attracts more than 6,000 participants every year, who are jointly committed to advancing the progress and development in this field.
