In the Continuing Education Session, scholars introduced the latest progress in the diagnosis, treatment and research of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases, and shared their surgical experience and training essentials for laparoscopic hepatectomy, laparoscopic liver donor resection and laparoscopic pancreatoduodenectomy, etc. The Main Session of this congress focused on the latest diagnosis, treatment and research progress in the field of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases, and "Living Legend Lecture" and "Meet the Experts" sessions were specially arranged. Professors from South Korea, Japan, the United States and China shared their unique opinions on an array of hot topics, such as blood flow control techniques for primary liver cancer, surgical indications for resection of metastatic liver cancer, prevention and treatment of pancreatic fistula after pancreatic surgery, and resection of pancreatic head cancer, etc.

The former lecture reveals that the sex-determining region gene on Y chromosome is a key cause of the difference in the severity of hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury between two genders, and the latter lecture analyzes the impact of minimally invasive and open left pancreatectomy on the short- and long-term prognosis of pNETs patients.

Dr. Hu Liangshuo gave a lecture entitled “Conditional Overall and Disease-Free Survival after Curative-Intent Liver Resection for Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma: An International Multi-Institutional Study”.
