From September 14 to 16, 2018, the 17th Biennial Meeting of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS 2018) sponsored by IGCS was held at the Kyoto International Conference Center of Japan. The meeting highlighted the introduction of current worldwide diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, vulvar cancer, trophoblastic tumor, and showed the latest clinical big data and basic research results in relevant fields of gynecological tumors. Zhang Zhongming, Chief Physician of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University, attended the meeting.
This meeting attracted more than 3,000 gynecological oncologists from hospitals, famous universities and research institutions in 87 countries and scholars from relevant basic medical research fields for academic discussions and exchanges. What’s more, 222 attendees were from China, including mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan (China), and they made a total of 26 speeches and poster presentations. Chief Physician Zhang, on behalf of the Cervical Lesion Specialist Team of our hospital, conducted a poster presentation entitled Clinical analysis of 2,276 cases of cervical lesions and microinvasive cancer treated by the refined loop electrosurgical excision procedure with accurate excision and required electrocoagulation. The scientific and rational design, artful and ingenious operation principle, and remarkable ultimate efficacy have attracted enthusiastic attention and obtained universal recognition of the participated experts and scholars of related majors. The continuous development of the work and the practice, exploration, improvement, promotion of this new clinical technology are expected to help fulfill the vision proposed by international standard based on this top-notch technology as soon as possible.
