From June 28 to July 1, 2023, Professor Wang Zheng from Pancreatic Center of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was invited to attend and deliver a presentation at the 55th European Pancreatic Club (EPC) Meeting.
The meeting was held in Alpbach Convention Center, Austria, covering a wide range of areas including pancreatic cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, cystic lesions, acute and chronic pancreatitis, etc.
On June 29, 2023, Professor Wang Zheng delivered a presentation at the annual meeting. He was one of the three Chinese scholars invited to give a speech at EPC Meeting 2023. In the session of pancreatic cancer, Professor Wang Zheng delivered a presentation entitled "Tunneling nanotubes provides a road for mutant Kras spreading from pancreatic cancer cell to acinar cell", illustrating novel directions and hot spots of pancreatic cancer in translational research.
After the presentation, Professor Wang Zheng participated in the ESPAC-6 and ESPAC-7 panel discussion chaired by John Neoptolemos from Heidelberg University, discussed unsolved topics in pancreatic research with Professor Marc Besselink, Head of Dutch Pancreatitis Study Group, and exchanged ideas regarding clinical establishment of robot-assisted pancreatic surgery and database with Professor Thilo Hackert from Hamburg University, hoping to enable Pancreatic Center of our hospital to catch up with international levels and persistently strengthen disciplinary influence through academic exchanges and cooperation.
