From July 18 to 22, 2023, Associate Professor Wang Wei from Department of Psychiatry of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) attended the 22nd International Mental Health Conference 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand. Professor Zhang Tianbu from Department of Psychology of Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital and Professor Li Qiguang from Mental Health Center of Xi 'an City also attended the conference. More than 1,000 experts from 14 countries in the field of mental health worldwide participated in the annual conference, with the theme of "enhancing the collaboration for violence prevention and social well being".

In the keynote speeches, scholars and professors from the United Nations, Australia and Thailand exchanged ideas on academic topics, such as health and social well being of sustainable development and psychological resilience, and delivered in-depth explanations regarding the violence prevention for mental disorders, especially the prevention of violence against children, as well as the approaches and significance of improving mental health of the whole society. In the sub-venue session, mindfulness-based psychological interviews, social functional training in childhood and spiritual contents related to digital mental health services were set up.
During the international exchange session, scholars from Pakistan, Tianjin, China and Taiwan province, China introduced their local mental health service systems, respectively. Wang Wei, was invited to deliver an oral presentation entitled "The development of psychiatric department in comprehensive hospital" at this conference, illustrating the overall development of the FAH, and development plan and current scientific research and academic achievements of Department of Psychiatry. He also had in-depth discussion with scholars from Thailand, Malaysia and Taiwan province, China. On this international platform, Wang Wei fully demonstrated recent progress and achievements of Department of Psychiatry in the FAH, receiving widespread recognition from international peers in this field. Multiple experts hoped to continually establish in-depth cooperation with the FAH.
