From July 12 to 15, 2018, the 19th Congress of Asian Society for Vascular Surgery (ASVS) and the 12th China Southern Endovascular Congress (SEC) were held in Guangzhou. These two conferences had selected a total of 10 speeches submitted by Department of Vascular Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Director Liu Jianlin, Professor Lu Shaoying, Professor Feng Jun, Doctor Yang Lin, and Physician Li Yan were invited to participate in the conference and deliver speeches. What's more, Professor Lu Shaoying and Doctor Yang Lin were invited to address in English at 2018 ASVS.
As a top-level conference in the field of vascular surgery in Asia since 1990, ASVS attracted the most famous experts of vascular surgery throughout Asia. Adherence to the principle of “Cooperation, Progress, Innovation”, ASVS focused on diagnosis & treatment progress and the latest therapy of carotid artery, thoracoabdominal aorta, lower extremity artery and venous diseases. There were about 300 foreign experts participating in 2018 ASVS.
As an international conference and also one of the most scaled and influential conferences in the field of vascular diseases in China, Southern Endovascular Congress (SEC) is co-hosted by Vascular Surgery Research Center of Sun Yat-Sen University in collaboration with Vascular Surgery Branch (Group) of Medical Association of Nine Provinces in Southern China and Taiwan Venous Society, and Hong Kong Vascular Surgery Society, and undertaken by the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University, Editorial Department of Chinese Journal of Vascular Surgery and Editorial Department of Chinese Journal of Vascular Surgery (Electronic Edition). SEC 2018 integrated many forums, including the 6th Youth Scholar Forum on Chinese Vascular Diseases, Parallel Session of USA PNEC South Conference, and the 3rd Sino – Japan Vascular Exchange Forum, etc., covering clinical diagnosis and treatment, evidence-based medicine, innovation edge, application of new devices and technologies, and nursing of angionosis, etc., and providing recorded broadcasts of more than 60 various kinds of excellent cases.
Director Liu Jianlin delivered a conference speech on conducting intervention strategy toward carotid artery stenosis, and became editorial board member of the 3rd Editorial Board of Chinese Journal of Vascular Surgery (Electronic Edition). Director Lu Shaoying taught the guide-wire application skills to foreign experts on the site, published the original minimally invasive technique of pseudoaneurysm, and delivered a total of 4 conference addresses. Professor Feng Jun delivered conference address on conducting complex carotid artery therapy. Doctor Yang Lin participated in “Talking about femoral artery and therapy today” case competition and delivered speech on taper support therapy of carotid artery stenosis. Physician Li Yan was invited to participate in the 1stChinese Postgraduate Vascular Forum and deliver speech.
Founded in July 2015, Department of Vascular Surgery in our hospital witnessed its greater influence and sustainable development under leadership of Director Liu Jianlin, Professor Lu Shaoying and Professor Feng Jun. What's more, professors in this department were invited to participate in international conferences for many times, and expressed their unique thoughts and treatment concepts of blood vessel related diseases in Northwest China. The ten addresses selected at this conference have fully demonstrated the achievement of Department of Vascular sSurgery in clinical research, enhancing the influence of our hospital in both domestic and foreign treatment.
