Recently, the 15th annual meeting of the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) was held in Barcelona, Spain. The deputy chief physician of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University Wu Yinying, who was invited by the organizing committee for the second time this year, and doctoral student Fan Yangwei attended this meeting.
The meeting, hosted by ENETS, is an academic gala with the largest scale and highest academic level worldwide in the field of neuroendocrine tumors. It encompasses new discoveries in basic research, epidemiology of neuroendocrine tumors, important clinical researches and a wide range of contents. It has gathered over a thousand experts and scholars in oncology from all over the world. Professor Li Enxiao of the Oncology Department in the hospital has been engaged in basic and clinical research in NET field with the help of colleagues in the Hepatobiliary Surgery, General Surgery, Medical Imaging, and Pathology Department. Wu Yinying, deputy chief physician made panel exhibitions on the retrospective analysis of digestive system neuroendocrine tumors in northwestern China, and doctoral student Fan Yangwei exchanged the clinical and basic research results of GSK-3beta expression in gastrointestinal pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors on display board. The contents have attracted the attention of domestic and foreign counterparts.
During the meeting, face-to-face academic exchanges and discussions were held with scholars at home and abroad. Through learning and comparison, the team has laid the foundation for further cooperation in scientific research projects and graduate student training.
