From February 27 to March 4, 2018, the 30th European Conference of Radiology (ECR) was held in Austria. Tens of thousands of physicians, experts and scholars from over 150 countries participated in this event. Dr. Niu Chen of the Medical Imaging Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University participated in the conference.
Dr. Niu Chen conducted a wall poster exchange at the conference entitled “Anticorrelated networks dysfunction in patients with brain tumor in frontal lobe”. This paper was based on the study of patients with prefrontal lobe brain tumors with multi-modality magnetic resonance imaging technology. It was found that prefrontal lobe injury would cause the imbalance of the positive and negative brain networks, which would lead to a significant decline in cognitive function in patients with brain tumors. This study attracted the attention of domestic and foreign counterparts. The cognitive function of the brain is a high-level brain function of human beings. Effectively assessing the changes in patients' cognitive function before surgery will provide important help for individualized accurate treatment.
The display of this research result also fully reflects the achievements made by the Medical Imaging Department of the hospital in scientific research, and increases the academic influence of the hospital in the field of radiology.
