A total of 6 young doctors of Urology Department of our hospital were invited by the Organizing Committee to attend the annual meeting of the American Urological Association (AUA) for academic exchanges.
During May 6-10, as the highest-level academic event in the field of urology, the 111thAnnual Meeting of AUA was held in San Diego. More than 10,000 urologists from all over the world attended the conference. Six young doctors of Urology Department of our hospital, namely Professor Fan Jinhai, Associate Research Fellow Yang Lin and Wu Kaijie, Attending Physician Zhu Guodong, Assistant Research Fellow Zeng Jin, and Hui Ke, Postgraduate Student of Professor He Dalin, were invited by the Organizing Committee to attend this meeting for academic exchanges. They delivered a total of 7 speeches and poster exchanges at the meeting on early diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer, experimental results of premature ejaculation in male, invasion and metastasis mechanism of bladder cancer, and mechanisms of signal pathways related to bladder development, which reflected the academic influence of Urology Department as a national key discipline and clinical key specialty of the Ministry of Public Health.
At this annual meeting of the AUA, speeches delivered by scholars of Urology Department in our hospital have been unanimously acknowledged by domestic and foreign experts. In particular, a lecture entitled “BRUCE bridges autophagy and apoptosis in silibinin-induced cell death in bladder cancer” delivered by Assistant Research Fellow Zeng Jin won the Best POSETER Award for basic research in bladder cancer at the parallel session, and he has become the first person to win this honor in the urology field in Northwest China, marking that the research level of the Urology Department of our hospital has been geared to international standards and reached the world leading level.
