The 2016 Annual Congress of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) was held in San Diego from 11 to 15 in June (local time). Associate Professor Gao Rui of Nuclear Medicine Department of our hospital made an oral report and exchange at the conference.

SNMMI has represented the highest level of nuclear medicine and attracted nearly 10,000 experts in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging from all over the world. The meeting conducted an in-depth discussion on the hot issues in the current development of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging, including expert lectures, conference and academic poster presentation. An oral report and exchange on the “99mTc-3PRGD2 integrin receptor imaging provides information on prediction of prognosis in metastatic breast cancer patients” was conducted by Associate Professor Gao Rui of nuclear medicine department at the conference. The research entitled “Establishing a new formula for estimating renal depth in a Chinese adult population” of Associate Professor Xue Jianjun of the department was also selected for poster exchange.

Under the leadership of Professor Yang Aimin, Director of Nuclear Medicine Department of our hospital, great importance has been attached to personnel training and scientific research. The two research papers selected by the SNMMI Annual Congress represented the research direction constantly promoted by the department in recent years. The research in polypeptide imaging agent of tumor microvasculature (99mTc-3PRGD2) conducted by Associate Professor Gao Rui was to, through close cooperation with clinical departments, apply 99mTc-3PRGD2 SPECT/CT imaging in differential diagnosis, clinical re-staging and prognosis evaluation of various malignant tumors. The research achievements have been continuously invited to exchange at SNMMI Annual Congress from 2014 to 2016. It is believed that with continuous efforts, the academic research and overall strength of Nuclear Medicine Department of our hospital will be continuously enhanced through various channels and all-round cooperation.
