Deputy Director Wu Dapeng and physicians Yang Lin, Zhu Guodong, and Wu Kaijie of the Urology Department of our hospital were invited to attend the 35th World Congress of Endourology (WCE).
From September 11 to September 16, 2017,the 35th World Congress of Endourology (WCE) was held in Vancouver, Canada. Deputy Director Wu Dapeng and physicians Yang Lin, Zhu Guodong, and Wu Kaijie of the Urology Department were invited to attend the WCE, and respectively made panel communication and parallel reports on the clinical research results including Nephron-sparing surgery for complex renal cell carcinoma with robot, shockwave treatment of male erectile dysfunction, robot repair surgery for vesicovaginal fistula, and partial cystectomy with laparoscope assorted by green laser, all of which were highly concerned by domestic and foreign peers.
The team also visited the University of British Columbia and Living Tumor Laboratory of Vancouver Prostate Cancer. They also made in-depth discussion and exchange with Professor Wang Yuzhuo, Director of the laboratory, and other core members on basic and conversion studies for prostatic cancer, which laid a foundation for further cooperation in carrying out scientific research projects and postgraduate cultivation.
Since 2007, the Urology Department, with the subsidy for attending high-level international conferences provided by the school and hospital, has constantly arranged young physicians to attend the highest level of international conferences about urology, including European Association of Urology (EAU), American Urological Association (AUA), and Society of Basic Urology Research (SBUR). Many have also been invited to make podium presentations or international scholar lectures. Several physicians have won the Best Poster, which fully demonstrates the high international academic influence of Urology Department.
