Several experts in the Cardiovascular Medicine Department of our hospital were invited to attend the 10th Annual Conference of Asiapacific Heart Rhythm Society (APHRS).
On September 15, 2017, the 10th Annual Conference of APHRS was held in Yokohama, a beautiful coastal city in Japan. With the theme of Advancing Together in Heart Rhythm, this conference was rich in contents and gathered the consensus and guidelines from experts in the world, especially in Asian-Pacific Region. It also gathered hot clinical studies around the world, which cover the basic information and clinical studies, as well as the interventional therapy for common diseases such as atrial fibrillation and classic arrhythmias. The conference also intended to spread new technologies and new therapies for diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmia. Pacemaker electrophysiology experts of the Cardiovascular Medicine Department, including Professor Xue Xiaolin, Associate Professor Zhu Danjun and attending Physician Han Ke, attended the conference on invitation.
APHRS first awarded the MPP Clinical Excellent Contribution Prize to Fuwai Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University. Later, the champion testimonials for Asia Pacific Region were awarded to Han Ke from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University and Ying-Chieh Liao from Taiwan.
Professor Xue Xiaolin has been engaging in pacemaker electrophysiology and research work for more than 20 years. From the implantation of single and double-chamber pacemakers for patients with chronic arrhythmia in early years to the implementation of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) for patients with severe heart failure at present, she has been taking the lead in the field of pacemaker electrophysiology in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University. In recent years, she completes more than 500 surgeries of implanting pacemakers each year, including about 100 CRTs. Under the leadership of Professor Xue Xiaolin, the pacemaker electrophysiology team of the Cardiovascular Medicine Department has successfully implanted MPP for 8 patients this year, taking the lead in China. At present, the simultaneous follow-up shows fine follow-up results, and the cardiac functions of those patients have been obviously improved.
Pacemaker electrophysiology specialty in our hospital is currently at the domestic advanced level. In addition to the great achievements made in the Annual Conference of APHRS, our hospital set the Pacemaker Electrophysiology Forum, Young Physician Pacemaker Electrophysiology Forum, Women Electrophysiology Physician (WEP) Forum, and ECG Forum in Chang’an Cardiovascular Forum in 2017. Our hospital also organized the contest of Pacing and Electrophysiology in Northwest Division.
