Zhang Xiaogang is Doctor of Medicine. He graduated from Xi 'an Jiaotong University. "Hepatectomy for complex alveolar hepatic hydatidosis" won the champion in the 1st "National Competition for Hepatic Surgical Video" organized by the Editorial Committee of Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery. He participated in the world's first case of magnetic compression biliary tract surgery under choledochoscope combined with duodenoscopy and the first case of ALPPS in treatment of complicated hepatic alveolar echinococcosis in China.

Academic and scientific achievements
Zhang Xiaogang has undertaken 1 National Natural Science Foundation of China project, and participated in 1 key project of National Natural Science Foundation of China as a sub-project leader and 1 National Natural Science Foundation of China project. He was awarded 1 third prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Shaanxi Province and 1 second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Universities in Shaanxi Province (the second applicant). He served as the Associate Editor-in-Chief and edited two textbooks published by People’s Medical Publishing House. He has published more than 20 academic articles.

Zhang Xiaogang was awarded the first prize in the National Contest Finals of the Blue Escort Hepatectomy Perioperative Management, Teaching Innovation Award in XJTLU National University Teaching Innovation Contest, and "Top 10 Doctors" of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University in 2014.
