Professor Liu is doctoral tutor and Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University. As a core member, she participated in the establishment of Liver Transplantation Center and Organ Transplantation Innovation Team of the hospital, completed the first case of coronal-vena caval shunt surgery for portal hypertension in northwest China, and autologous combined with allogeneic vascular transplantation for hepatobiliary and unresectable pancreatic tumors, and completed the first case of expanded right trefoil resection under ALPPS for giant liver lesions in northwest China. Dr. Liu has won many prizes related to new medical technologies. She participated in the formulation of "Expert Consensus on Diagnosis and Treatment of Type II Hepatic Hydatid Disease" and "Expert Consensus on Diagnosis and Treatment of Esophageal and Gastric Varices Bleeding in Cirrhosis Portal Hypertension". In 2013, she established surgical ICU of the hospital according to international advanced standards. She played a leading role in planning and organizing the Union of Complicated Abdominal Infection in Northwest China with major hospitals in northwest China, making significant contributions to promoting rapid postoperative rehabilitation and improving the treatment rate in critically ill patients.

Professor Liu has successively undertaken 7 National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, 2 Excellent Talents Support Plan Projects in New Century by the Ministry of Education. She was awarded 1 second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and participated in 1 National Basic Research Program of China “973”, 1 key project of National Natural Science Foundation of China and 1 key project of the "11^th Five-Year Plan" National Science and Technology Support Program. She obtained 3 national invention patents. She was awarded 1 first, 1 second and 1 third prizes of Science and Technology Progress Award of Shaanxi Province, which covered the molecular mechanism of liver cancer, the basic and clinical research of targeted therapy for liver cancer, early intervention of liver cirrhosis and the mechanism of sepsis. She has published more than 200 articles, including nearly 100 articles published in SCI-indexed journals.

Professor Liu was awarded "Leader of Key Scientific and Technological Innovation Team of Shaanxi Province", "Youth Science and Technology Award of Shaanxi Province", "New Long March Striker of Shaanxi Province", etc. She was selected as "Excellent Talents in the New Century" by the Ministry of Education, won "Excellent Communist Party Member of Shaanxi Higher Education System" and "Taiwan Xinhua Education Award". She was selected in "Training Plan for Excellent Young Teachers" of Xi 'an Jiaotong University. She was awarded the first prize of Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award of Shaanxi Province (2013) and the top prize of Teaching Achievement Award of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (2015).
