On the morning of 6 August, 2022 Comprehensive Skills Competition for Physicians and Nurses of Shaanxi Province was officially launched. Relevant leaders from Education, Science, Culture, Sports and Health Union of Shaanxi Province, Transportation Union of Shaanxi Province, Hospital Administration Bureau of Health Commission of Shaanxi Province and Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Liu Qingguang, Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, heads of Trade Union of Communist Party, the United Front Work Department, Medical Department and Nursing Department, and 15 teams from institutions directly governed by Shaanxi provincial party committee and municipal health systems of Shaanxi province and referees attended the opening ceremony.

First, Deputy Party Secretary Feng Guanglin delivered a speech and announced the beginning of the opening ceremony of 2022 Comprehensive Skills Competition for Physicians and Nurses of Shaanxi Province. Liu Qingguang, Zhang Dinghong, Standing Committee Member of Party Committee of XJTU and Chairman of Trade Union, Huang Bin, inspector of Hospital Administration Bureau of Health Commission of Shaanxi Province, and Xia Mingwen, Vice Chairman of Education, Culture, Sports and Health Union of Shaanxi Province delivered speeches, respectively. Professor Lu Qun from our hospital announced the competition rules and took an oath on behalf of the referees. Physician Hou Chen from Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital gave a speech as the representative of medical staff.

This competition mainly assesses individual operation skills and teamwork capability to carry out rescue treatment, and also evaluates clinical thinking ability of each participant. This competition proceeds in a "track-style" pattern, which is conducted in different groups. Each track includes 4 stations, with a total duration of 30 min, and the duration of each station is not limited. The total score of 4 stations is the final score for each team. The assessment contents consist of thoracic puncture, lumbar puncture, lower limb debridement, intravenous infusion with indwelling needle, arterial puncture, urethral catheterization and advanced life support, which cover a wide range of clinical skills, objectively reflect the basic theory, basic knowledge and basic skills-oriented medical education and emphasize the importance of three basic abilities in the training of clinical capability. Participants left a deep impression on the referees with their solid clinical basic skills, standardized and skilled operation, high comprehensive quality, tacit teamwork andpreservance.

Finally, our hospital received the Top Prize for Group Competition. Xi 'an Central Hospital and the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University obtained the First Prize for Group Competition. Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, Ankang Central Hospital and People's Hospital of Tongchuan won the Second Prize for Group Competition. Xi’an No.3 Hospital, Yan’an University Affiliated Hospital, the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU and the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Medical College grabbed the Third Prize for Group Competition. Affiliated Hospital of Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine, Baoji Central Hospital, Xi 'an People's Hospital, Weinan Central Hospital and Hanzhong Central Hospital obtained the Excellent Prize for Group Competition. Li Zhen, Wang Wenjing and Liang Lei from our hospital grabbed the Top Prize for Individual Competition.
