On July 29, 2022, the list of "China’s Hospital Ranking of Innovation and Transformation" (the ranking list for short), jointly launched by China Medical Innovation Alliance (CMIA), Hainan BoaoLecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone Administration Bureau, Hainan Boao Medical Innovation Research Institute and CN-Healthcare, was officially released. This ranking list is initially generated after CMIA joins hands with tens of Chinese hospitals to objectively analyze the patents of tertiary hospitals in China in 2021. The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) ranks 8th on the comprehensive ranking list, 9th in the number of authorized invention patents and 5th in the number of patent transformation, respectively.
CMIA was jointly established by Academician Ge Junbo, CN-Healthcare, 16 academicians, 39 academic leaders and 42 research hospitals, aiming to promote the development of medical innovation in China. Taking patents as the vector and data as the benchmark, the ranking list evaluates Chinese tertiary hospitals in six dimensions: patent application, patent authorization, invention patent application, invention patent authorization, PCT application and patent transformation. The ranking list consists of 1 comprehensive ranking list and 6 branch ranking lists. The release of this ranking list will better comply with the trend of clinical requirement-oriented and engineering medicine-based medical innovation achievement transformation in China, which plays a significant role in conducting cutting-edge medical scientific and technological innovation research and achievement transformation, and elevating the medical service level to a new level.
In recent two years, our hospital has attached importance to and continuously strengthened clinical scientific research innovation and transformation, enhanced the management of intellectual property rights, promoted the achievement transformation, and explored projects and achievements with transformation potential. Next, Department of Science and Technology will continually improve the system and principle construction related to achievement transformation management, strengthen the construction of talent team for achievement transformation, set up specialized institutions and teams for achievement transformation, establish and improve the evaluation and incentive methods for achievement transformation, and coordinate the innovation elements of administration-industry-science-research-finance to form a joint force, aiming to accelerate high-quality creation and high-level transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
