From July 15 to 17, 2022, Clinical Laboratory of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) received the 5th on-spot assessment of Medical Laboratory Standard ISO15189 Accreditation by the expert group from China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), and successfully passed the assessment with excellent performance!
Members of the expert group, Vice President Wang Maode of our hospital, heads of Medical Department, Nursing Department and other administrative departments, and relevant staff from Clinical Laboratory attended the first meeting. Professor Chen Qubo, Leader of the expert group, introduced the members and work arrangement of the expert group, the process, basis and scope of this assessment,etc. Professor Chen Wei, Director of Clinical Laboratory, introduced the basic situation of Clinical Laboratory to the expert group, and reported the construction and operation of quality management system since the previous re-assessment. On behalf of our hospital, Vice President Wang Maode briefly illustrated current development of our hospital to the expert group, fully recognized the positive role of Medical Laboratory Standard ISO15189 Accreditation in enhancing the clinical laboratory testing of our hospital, and hoped that the expert group could put forward valuable suggestions on persistent improvement of the quality management system of Clinical Laboratory, thereby further improving the management level of Clinical Laboratory.
According to the CNAS-CL02 accreditation criteria and application instructions in different disciplines, the expert group conducted a comprehensive and explicit inspection of the management and technical elements of Clinical Laboratory by reviewing documents, on-spot inspection, on-spot testing, and inspecting the process of sample collection and testing in Ward II of Department of General Surgery and Ward II of Department of Neurology, and provided guidance upon the problems identified during the inspection.
On July 17, the final meeting was held in Clinical Laboratory. Professor Chen Qubo, reviewed the 3-day on-spot assessment, and highly recognized the disciplinary development, technical capability, quality system, clinical service and talent team of Clinical Laboratory. The expert group agreed that the quality management system of Clinical Laboratory proceeded in a standard and efficient pattern. In addition, the expert group also proposed the existing problems, required Clinical Laboratory complete the correction task and submit the correction documents to CNAS within two months. Vice President Wang Maode and Director Chen Wei, on behalf of our hospital and Clinical Laboratory, stressed that our hospital and Clinical Laboratory will attach importance to the problems and submit the correction reportupon request.
