On July 8, the professional committee re-election meeting of Radiation Oncology Branch of Shaanxi Medical Association was held. Professor Zhang Xiaozhi from Department of Radiation Oncology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was elected as Chairman of the 4th Professional Committee of Radiation Oncology Branch of Shaanxi Medical Association, and Professor Han Suxia was elected as Deputy Chairman. Due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting was held online and in-person, which was chaired by Zhang Lei, Secretary General of Shaanxi Medical Association.
At the meeting, Professor Zhang Xiaozhi stated that under the guidance of Shaanxi Medical Association, he, as the chairman of the new committee, will work together with all committee members to shoulder the responsibility and mission of this professional committee, establish a high-level academic exchange platform, improve the development level of radiation oncology in Shaanxi province, jointly promote the standardization and advancement of regional radiation oncology technology, serve the people and contribute to building a healthy China.
Yang Lianchang, Deputy Director of Health Commission of Shaanxi Province, delivered a speech, hoping that under the leadership of Zhang Xiaozhi, the new committee can uphold and carry forward the tradition and spirit of this committee, set up an academic platform, strengthen the construction of this committee, and shoulder the responsibility of serving the society and people's health. In addition, Department of Radiation Oncology of our hospital was elected as the chairman affiliation of Radiation Oncology Branch of Shaanxi Medical Association, which played a significant role in smoothly implementing the “14th Five-Year Plan”, constructing national and regional medical centers of our hospital, promoting academic exchanges and development of oncology in Shaanxi province, and thoroughly implementing the national strategy of "Healthy China".
