Training Course of Appropriate Technologies (thrombolysis) for Stroke Prevention and Treatment held in Xi'an

On June 22, 2022, Training Course of Appropriate Technologies (thrombolysis) for Stroke Prevention and Treatment, jointly hosted by China Alliance for Cerebrovascular Diseases and Stroke Prevention and Treatment Branch of Chinese Association of Geriatric Research and organized by the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was held in Xi 'an. Assistant-to-President Han Jianfeng of our hospital chaired the meeting. More than 20 top-notched experts in the field of stroke from Shaanxi province and other provinces attended and gave lectures. Trainees from over 100 medical institutions in Shaanxi province participated in this training course.

Chao Baohua, inspector of National Health Commission, Liu Wei, Deputy Director of Hospital Administration Bureau of Health Commission of Shaanxi Province, Ma Xiancang, Vice President of our hospital, and Qu Qiumin, President of Shaanxi Stroke Specialty Alliance, were invited to deliver speeches, respectively.

In the first session, Professor Qu Qiumin explicitly explained theGuidelines for Intravenous Thrombolysis in Diagnosis and Treatment of Acute Ischemic Stroke in China (2021 Edition). Professor Han Jianfeng gave a lecture entitledEvaluation System of Stroke Center Construction (2022 Edition). Professor Chang Mingze from Xi 'an No.3 Hospital, the Affiliated Hospital of Northwest University, gave a report entitled "Regional Stroke Emergency Map and Construction of Fast-track Service in Hospital",introduced the integration of medical resources in Xi 'an led by Xi 'an No.3 Hospital and illustrated the process of accelerating the construction of regional stroke treatment system. Professor Zhang Ru from the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTUelucidated the individualized clinical diagnosis and treatment strategies for ischemic stroke.

During the second session, Professor Gao Feng from Pucheng County Hospital and Professor Li Jiang from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University gave lectures entitled "Intravenous Thrombolytic Process and Use of Different Thrombolytic Drugs" and "Intravenous Thrombolytic Therapy for Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke Complicated with Large Vessel Occlusion". Professor Yang Xi'ai from Ankang Central Hospital introduced "Informed Consent Acquisition and Resolutions for Special Problems" during the intravenous thrombolytic therapy, proposed that instant and effective communication was the key to shorten DNT time, and illustrated the general plan of informed consent acquisition and proper resolutions for special issues.

In the third session, Professor Liu Fude from our hospital gave a lecture entitled "Monitoring and Management after Vascular Recanalization Treatment". Professor Zhang Bei from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Medical College and Professor Deng Meiying from our hospital delivered lectures entitled "Screening and Decision-making of Intravenous Thrombolysis Patients" and "Indications and Contraindications of Intravenous Thrombolytic Therapy" respectively,highlighting that screening of eligible patients according to their indications was the premise to bring benefits to more patients,and understanding of contraindications was the key to ensure the therapeutic safety. Professor Zhang Bei elucidated the identification of special cases (such as aortic dissection complicated with cerebral infarction) in intravenous thrombolysis. Professor Deng Meiying mainly introduced how to grasp the relative contraindications.

During the fourth session, Professor Zhang Liyong from Liaocheng People's Hospital gave a presentation entitled "Latest Advancement in Intravenous Thrombolysis for Acute Ischemic Stroke" and shared the latest clinical research progressin the field of thrombolysis for acute ischemic stroke at home and abroad. Professor Han Hongxing from Linyi People's Hospital illustrated "Interpretation of China Cerebrovascular Disease Imaging Standards-Imaging Evaluation and Decision-making for Stroke". Professor Yu Jia from Department of Neurology of our hospital delivered alecture entitled "Principles for Treatment of Non-bleeding Aneurysms" and stressed that intracranial aneurysms might remain stable for a long period of time, which might also progress into rupture and hemorrhage. Identifying high-risk population of rupture was the key to diagnosis and treatment decision-making, and patients should be subject to stratified management according to the risk of aneurysm rupture. Professor Yang Linsong from the First People's Hospital of Xianyang integrated the guidelines with clinical practice, presented two special cases worthy of discussion, and shared his thinking during the treatment process.
