Prof. Wang Maode was elected as the Director of the 9th Committee of the Neurosurgery Branch of Shaanxi Medical Association at the general meeting of the committee held on February 20th.
The meeting was held online and presided over by Zhang Lei, Secretary General of Shaanxi Medical Association. Prof. Wang Maode as the new Director said that under the leadership of the Shaanxi Medical Association, this committee would continue to maintain and carry forward the excellent traditions of Shaanxi Medical Association for better performance in the Neurosurgery Branch, strengthen academic exchanges of neurosurgery inside and outside the province, further promote the popularization and application of neurosurgery technology at the basic level, improve the comprehensive quality of neurosurgeons, serve the people and help build the “Healthy China”.


Yang Lianchang, Deputy Director of Shaanxi Provincial Health Committee, concluded that it was desirable that the new committee, under the leadership of Director Wang Maode, would adhere to and carry forward the visions of overall situation, crisis and service, lead the prosperity and development of medicine, comprehensively strengthen the construction of the Association and serve the members, people and the country.
Shaanxi Medical Association is an academic, public welfare and non-profit legal entity in our province. It is the bridge and link between the Party and the government to contact with the medical science and technology workers, as an integral part of Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology and an important social force to develop the medical science and technology and health services in Shaanxi Province. In addition, our Department of Neurosurgery has become the director unit of the Neurosurgery Branch of the Provincial Medical Association, which is of great significance to the smooth implementation of the “14th Five-Year Plan” of our hospital, construction of national regional medical centers, promotion of academic exchanges and development of neurosurgery in our province and thorough implementation of the national "Healthy China" strategy.
Wang Maode’s Introduction
Wang Maode, chief physician, professor, doctoral supervisor, serves as the Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU). He is currently the Director of Neurosurgery Branch of Shaanxi Medical Association, Member of Trauma Branch of Chinese Medical Association, Member of Neurosurgery Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and Deputy Director of Neurosurgery Branch of Shaanxi Medical Doctor Association, Deputy Director of Neurosurgery Committee of Health Exchange and Cooperation across the Taiwan Strains and Standing Director of Chinese Geriatrics Society.He focuses on minimally invasive surgical treatment for brain glioma, pituitary tumor and cranial base tumor, and has profound attainments in dystonia diseases such as Parkinson's Disease, idiopathic tremor, torsion spasm, Tourette Syndrome, spastic torticollis, treatment of intractable diseases such as epilepsy, brain trauma, cerebrovascular disease, spinal cord injury, spinal cord tumor, and removal of neurologic tumors by the neuroendoscope and microscope. He received the title of "Model of Medical Ethics in Shaanxi Province" and "Top 100 Famous Doctors in China". Over many years, he has been devoted to the multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary scientific research in the fields of brain glioma, craniocerebral trauma and functional neurosurgery, published more than 100 SCI articles, presided over 2 NSFC projects, 1 key research and development project of the Navy Logistics Command, 1 key clinical project of the Ministry of Health, 1 sub-project supported by the“12th Five-Year Plan” and several provincial projects. Prof. Wang Maode was awarded 1 national invention patent, 1 national utility model patent, 2 Shaanxi provincial science and technology progress awards and 2 science and technology progress awards of the provincial education commission. He has participated in compiling 5 monographs as the editor-in-chief and served as the editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Neurosurgeryand more.
