On the morning of February 10, led by our President Lyu Yi, Zhang Xufeng, the Deputy Director of the Office of Discipline Construction, Ke Mengyun, the Deputy Researcher of National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Precision Surgery and Regenerative Medicine, Dr. Dong Jian from the Department of Vascular Surgery went to Tongji Hospital Tongji Medical College of HUST and Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University for visits and exchanges.

At Tongji Hospital, President Lyu Yi made the discussions on the construction of national medical center, joined by Chen Jianguo, the Standing Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of HUST, Liu Jihong, the President of Tongji Hospital, Liao Jiazhi, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committeeand Bai Xiangjun, the Vice President, as well as the directors of relevant departments. Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Liao Jiazhi first introduced the construction of the national medical center in Tongji Hospital, and then made exchanges on the establishment of seven centers including National Medical Center for Major Public Health Events, tackling tasks, supporting policies of the government, enterprise cooperation mechanism and more. Then, Deputy Director Zhang Xufeng made the presentation of the construction of the national medical center in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU). As the only construction unit selected for the first batch of national medical centers in the northwest region, our hospital delivers the joint tackling on 9 key challenge tasks by featuring “crossing between the medicine and engineering”, combining the expert team from XJTU and domestic organizations and excellent companies. Under the strong support of the provincial government and XJTU, we intend to deliver a series of innovation achievements. Vice President Chen Jianguo gave the affirmative vote to two hospitals and encouraged them to create a group of the much-anticipated innovation results facing the world class cutting-edge technologies, economy arena, critical national demands and people’s life health. President Liu Jihong and President Lyu Yi separately advised on the construction of their respective hospitals and learned from their respective advantages to improve their construction schemes to ensure the successful completion of the national medical centers. In the last, President Lyu Yi proposed the “National Medical Center Construction Consortium” to complement the advantages and combine the tackling situations, discussed and entered the construction initiatives on the mission, running mechanism, tacking cooperation manner and direction of “Hospital Strategic Consortium for the Construction of National Medical Center”. The attending leaders delivered their affirmative votes and supports.

Following that, accompanied by Prof. Yuan Yufeng, the Secretary of the Party Committee and well-known expert in the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgeryof Zhongnan Hospital, President Lyu Yi with the team visited the Institute of Model Animal, Wuhan University, and made the discussions with Prof. Li Hongliang, Prof. She Zhigang, Prof. Zhang Peng and Prof. Zhang Xiaojing from the Institute on the construction of platforms and development of disciplines.
