​​2021 Summary and Report Conference of Northwest Alliance for Parkinson’s Disease Prevention and Treatment is successfully held

On the evening of December 29, 2021, the Summary and Report Conference of Northwest Alliance for Parkinson’s Disease Prevention and Treatment was held as scheduled in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) for summarizing the annual achievements and making the future planning. The conference was held online due to COVID-19. This event brought together all the experts from five provinces in the northwest of China online to report their achievements that have been obtained in 2021 and to discuss the working plan of the Alliance in 2022.

The conference was presided over by Prof. Qu Qiumin, the Head of Northwest Alliance for Parkinson’s Disease and Director of Department of Neurology of the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, Prof. Cao Hongmei, Deputy Director of Department of Neurology of the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, Prof. Zhang Xiaoying, Director of Department of Neurology of General Hospital of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Prof. Chen Jun, Director of Department of Neurology of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, Prof. Li Haining from Department of Neurology of General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University and Prof. Zhu Aiqin, Director of Department of Geriatrics of Qinghai Provincial People’s Hospital respectively gave the presentations on their achievements in the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's disease and clinical studies. In 2021, each province has made significant achievements in the establishment of Parkinson's disease clinics, consultation of intractable cases, academic exchanges, health education and clinical studies among others. In 2022, each province will continue to work closely and in joint efforts around the treatment improvement of Parkinson's disease and clinical studies to quickly enhance the diagnosis, treatment and research levels of Parkinson's disease in the northwest region.

Founded in 2018, “Northwest Alliance for Parkinson’s Disease Prevention and Treatment” was led by Prof. Qu Qiumin. The mission is to work closely with experts from five provinces in the northwest region, enhance the academic exchanges, improve the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s disease and cooperate on clinical studies. Over three years, thanks to joint efforts of each member, the Alliance has made remarkable progress, highly praised by the colleagues across the country.
