From November 19 to 21, 2021, the 16thChang’an Vascular Forum in conjunction with All-phase VTE Prevention and Treatment Forum were successfully held. Prestigious experts and young and middle-aged backbones across China fully demonstrated and shared their clinical experience and academic viewpoints on blood vessels, and put forward multiple novel ideas and concepts. Due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, the forum was held online.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Tian Hongyan from Department of Peripheral Vessel of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU). Yuan Zuyi, President of Cardiovascular Diseases Hospital delivered a speech, highlighting that Department of Peripheral Vessel of the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU is a young and energetic department, which has obtained certain achievements thanks to enormous support from experts throughout China. In the future, we will closely integrate the resources of Cardiovascular Diseases Hospital and sincerely cooperate with Department of Cardiology, Department of Cardiac Surgery and other departments in relevant fields, aiming to make greater achievements in scientific research, clinical trial, teaching, epidemiological investigation in the field of vascular diseases.
Chen Zhong, Head of Vascular Surgery Group of Society of Surgery of Chinese Medical Association and President of Vascular Surgeons Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, delivered an opening speech and appreciated the peripheral vessel team led by Tian Hongyan for their persistent pursuit and contribution to the development of vascular disease management in Shaanxi province and even northwest China! The team spared no effort to make profound progress in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases in northwest region and strongly support the development of vascular disease management across China. More importantly, the team has made significant contributions to the prevention and treatment of VTE in hospitals nationwide, and taken the lead to draft the national guideline entitled "Chinese Expert Consensus on Physical Prevention of Deep Venous Thrombosis".
The forum consisted of 9 special sessions including Great Vessel Summit Forum, Basic Interventional Training, Interventional Training for Peripheral Vascular Diseases, Complicated Case Competition, Vascular Basic Research+Medicine Combined with Engineering Session, All-phase VTE Prevention and Treatment Forum, Peripheral Arterial Disease Session, Peripheral Venous Disease Session, Diabetic Foot MDT Session+Vascular Malformation Session,Battle on Huashan MountainCase Session and Nursing Forum. The forum covered 18 topics and167 domestic experts were invited to give lectures, with 130,000 hits and 38,000 online participants.
