On November 20, 2021, Hospital Management Institute, Fudan University released the “2020 China’s Hospital Ranking List (comprehensive)” and “2020 China’s Hospital Specialty Reputation Ranking List”. A total of 100 outstanding hospitals were nominated on the "2020 China’s Hospital Ranking List (comprehensive)". Forty-two specialties were evaluated on the “2020 China’s Hospital Specialty Reputation Ranking List”, and two specialties of tuberculosis and general medicine were included for the first time.

In the morning, President Lyu Yi and Vice President Ma Xiancang of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) were invited to attend the opening ceremony. During the round-table forum of discipline construction, President Lyu Yi shared the experience and practice of cultivating interdisciplinary talents specializing in both medicine and engineering with all participants by illustrating the establishment of Surgical Dreamwork, the cultivation of high-end medical talents of MED-X Research Institute of West Innovation Port and the cultivation of new talents in computational physics medicine of School of Future Technology.

In the afternoon, two ranking lists were officially released. Our hospital ranked 62^nd on the “2020 China’s Hospital Ranking List (comprehensive)”, 2^nd in northwest China on the comprehensive list, and 1^st in northwest China regarding scientific and academic research. Eight specialties of our hospital were nominated on the “2020 China’s Hospital Specialty Reputation Ranking List” including Psychiatry (12^th), Urology (14^th), Infectious Diseases (19^th), Cardiovascular Diseases (20^th), General Surgery (23^rd), Health Management (25^th), Endocrinology (27^th) and Rheumatism (28^th). Among these specialties, Psychiatry ranked 10^th,becoming the first specialty of our hospital rushing among Top 10.

This year, "2017 Scientific Research Evaluation Mechanism (weight: 20%)" was supplemented to “2020 China’s Hospital Ranking List (comprehensive)”. Considering the sensitive effect of scientific research evaluation, the sensitivity of scientific research evaluation was introduced to guide and counteract the lag of reputation evaluation. This is also one of the reasons why the “2020 China’s Hospital Ranking List (comprehensive)” shows significant changes this year.

In recent years, Department of Psychiatry of our hospital has been dedicated to team building and scientific research, aiming to promote coordinated development of medicine, teaching, research and talent training, and persistently elevate the discipline influence. Under the leadership of Professor Ma Xiancang, the academic leader, the studies related to the gut-brain axis mechanism of psychiatric diseases have reached the advanced level around the globe and the leading level in China. Professor Zhu Feng, a team member, has received financial support of National Natural Science Foundation of China for Outstanding Youth Fund. In April, 2021, Department of Psychiatry was recommended by Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission as the main construction affiliation of regional sub-center of National Psychiatry Medical Center.

President Lyu Yi was confident that during the process of establishing a national medical center, our hospital will make significant progress in scientific research strength and specialty reputation, and will provide valuable reference for resolving the bottleneck problems in the field of medicine.
