On September 24, 2021, Guidelines for Heart Failure Management in Dialysis Chinese Patients (the guidelines), organized by Chinese Society of Nephrology of Chinese Medical Association and Zhongguancun Nephrology & Blood Purification Innovation Alliance and led by the team of Professor Jiang Hongli from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was released at the 2021 Blood Purification Forum, Chinese Society of Nephrology of Chinese Medical Association.
Professor Chen Jianghua, Chairman of Chinese Society of Nephrology of Chinese Medical Association, and Professor Zuo Li, Chairman of Zhongguancun Nephrology & Blood Purification Innovation Alliance acted as the leaders of the expert team. The team led by Professor Jiang Hongli from our hospital served as the initiator to draft the guidelines. More than 80 domestic experts in the fields of nephrology and cardiovascular diseases discussed, reviewed and revised the guidelines. At the 2021 Blood Purification Forum, Chinese Society of Nephrology of Chinese Medical Association, Professor Jiang Hongli, on behalf of all members of the expert group, officially released the guidelines to the nephrology practitioners in China, and delivered a special report on the highlights of the guidelines. Once the guidelines was released, four media platforms including Nephrology Time of DXY, Dialysis Circle,R heumatology & Immune Channel of Yixuejie and China Association of County Hospital President simultaneously reported the news.
The guidelines has been drafted and revised for over 1 year. Professor Jiang Hongli organized Professor Lyu Jing, Deputy Chief Physician Liu Hua and other physicians from Kidney Disease Hospital of our hospital to compile, read and analyze global evidence-based evidence, and refer to clinical practice experience of domestic experts to complete the draft of the guidelines. After extensive consultation among national experts, 3 rounds of in-person discussions among national experts in the fields of kidney and heart diseases, nearly 10 rounds of online expert discussions and 3 rounds of written feedback, 64 suggestions were proposed from 6 perspectives of heart failure diagnosis, risk factor management, hemodialysis management, peritoneal dialysis management, drug management and management of other factors. Among them, 29 were Class I suggestions, 31 Class II suggestions and 4 Class III suggestions.
As the first practice standard in this field throughout China, the guidelines comprehensively covers all aspects of heart failure management in dialysis patients. The comprehensive management concept and regimen proposed in the guidelines are applicable for the dialysis patients, which contribute to resolving the bottleneck issues, facilitate clinical diagnosis and treatment and bring benefits to more patients. At present, Professor Jiang Hongli has participated in drafting multiple guidelines/consensus on nephrology as a core expert, and organized the formulation of several guidelines as a leading expert. Besides Guidelines for Heart Failure Management in Dialysis Chinese Patients, she was also appointed by National Health Commission to lead the formulation of Guidelines for Grading Management of Hemodialysis, which will be officially released at the end of 2021.
