Recently, the final list of Healthy Lifestyle and Knowledge Theme Performance Works in 2021 New Era Health Science Popularization Work Competition, a health knowledge popularization campaign jointly organized by Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, National Health Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology and China Association for Science and Technology, was released. The work entitled "Invisible killer behind warmth-prevention of carbon monoxide poisoning" created by the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was successfully shortlisted for the finals in Changsha on September 29, which was also the only work from northwest China.

Since 2018, New Era Health Science Popularization Work Competition has been held for three consecutive times, aiming to make our people realize their health responsibilities, enhance their initiatives to maintain and promote health, and develop healthy behaviors and lifestyles through health education and science popularization, thereby accelerating the construction of healthy China.

During the performance, Xing Xin, playing the role as a nurse, illustrated the clinical manifestations, scientific rescue, treatment and prevention of carbon monoxide poisoning in an easy-to-understand manner. Qi Yifan, acting as carbon monoxide, explained the definition of carbon monoxide, the causes and harms of carbon monoxide poisoning through vivid costumes and performance, and taught the audience how to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning in daily lives through interaction, receiving unanimous recognition from the experts and judges.

In the past decade, the health science popularization works created by medical staff from our hospital have won awards in multiple competitions, which fully reflect the importance of our hospital attaches to health popularization, the enthusiasm of the front-line medical staff for health science popularization and their potent capability to create excellent works.
