On June 18, "Love in Xi 'an, Future Smile" 2021 Xi 'an Cleft Lip and Palate Public Welfare Rescue Action, jointly organized bythe First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Future Smile Charitable Foundation and Beam International Foundation, was officially launched in Xi 'an, the ancient capital in China. Hu Junhong, Director of Hospital Administration Bureau of Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission, Liu Qingguang, Vice President of our hospital, Assistant-to-President Zou Yuliang, leaders from relevant departments and leaders from Future Smile Charitable Foundation attended the launching ceremony, which was presided over by Professor Zou Yuliang. This is a poverty relief activity to deliver free treatment for children with cleft lip and palate. The eligible children and adolescents diagnosed with cleft lip and palate can undergo the surgery for free by our hospital and Future Smile Charitable Foundation.
During the launching ceremony, Professor Shi Songmin, Deputy Chairman of Medical Committee of Future Smile Charitable Foundation, presented a commemorative plaque to the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU and presented a certificate of love to Smile Publicity Ambassador Liu Guanyou. Ms. Wang Linju, Executive Secretary of Future Smile Charitable Foundation, presented a commemorative plaque to Mary Kay (China) Co., Ltd. Shu Maoguo, Director of Department of Plastic Surgery and Maxillofacial Surgery of our hospital, highlighted that all of us uphold the core principle in mind of utilizing technology to treat patients who need help. This is a poverty relief activity to offer free treatment for children with cleft lip and palate. After preliminary registration, more than 100 children and adolescents diagnosed with cleft lip and palate across China gathered in the ancient city of Xi 'an, and the eligible patients will undergo centralized surgery for free by our hospital in conjunction with Future Smile Charitable Foundation.
This is the 6th joint activity initiated by Future Smile Charitable Foundation and the team led by Shu Maoguo from our hospital. Prestigious surgeons, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, surgical nursing teams and volunteers from all over the country, as well as the professional nursing team from ourhospital worked together to provide high-level treatment and nursing services for patients. For the qualified patients, our hospital will provide special operating rooms, resuscitation rooms, preoperative and postoperative wards and experienced surgeons, pediatricians and nurses for around-the-clock shift and postoperative follow-up, aiming to guarantee the success of surgery.
