Under the enormous support from Shaanxi Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, the 1^st Rehabilitation Nursing Teaching Competition for Young Teachers in Shaanxi Province, initiated by Professional Committee of Rehabilitation Nursing of Shaanxi Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, and assisted by the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Professional Committee of Rehabilitation Nursing of Shaanxi Nursing Association, Professional Committee of Rehabilitation Nursing of Xi 'an Nursing Association and Professional Committee of Rehabilitation Nursing Education of Shaanxi Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, was successfully held in the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU on June 10, 2021.

Ge Wenli, Vice President of Northwest Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Zhang Qiaoling, Director of Nursing Department of Xi'an Central Hospital, Chen Hongfang, Director of Nursing Department of Shaanxi Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine, Professor Gu Wei from School of Nursing of XJTU and Associate Professor Wang Meifang, Office Director of Xi'an Jiaotong University City College were invited to serve as the judges. Xin Xia, Director of Nursing Department of our hospital, and the leaders and experts from the co-organizing affiliations also attended the competition. More than 200 nurses and head nurses from Shaanxi province participated in the competition.

This competition is themed with "Promote Teaching by Competition, Promote studying by Teaching and Promote Application by Studying". Ten contestants from different hospitals in Shaanxi province were finally selected after active organization and multi-round of selection, delivering intriguing teaching courses entitledIntermittent Oro-esophageal Tube Feeding for Gastrointestinal Nutrition,Bed and Chair Shifting for Hemiplegic Patients, andApplication of Extended Nursing in Rehabilitation,etc. The case designs were organized in a scientific, logic and focused manner. The contestants showcased the teaching characteristics of the specialty of rehabilitation nursing through video materials, live demonstration and interactive teaching,etc.

Professor Gu Wei and Vice President Ge Wenli gave comments and stressed that only by keeping our teaching mission in mind and remaining true to our original aspiration can we better enable students to dig deep and comprehend the teaching content, eventually attaining the teaching mission. Subsequently, Li Chenlu from Nursing Department of our hospital, the First Prize winner of2018 National Nursing Teaching Competition for Young Teachers, gave a lecture entitledNursing Care for Patients with Neurogenic Bladder.

Wang Binfan from the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU along with other 5 contestants receivedExcellence Awards. Qi Hongping from our hospital and other 3 contestants obtainedWinning Awardsand will participate in the 1^st National Rehabilitation Nursing Teaching Competition for Young Teachers in 2021.
