From June 18 to 19, the inaugural meeting of Professional Committee of Vertigo of Shaanxi Province Health Care Association in conjunction with the 6^th Silk Road Vertigo Forum, hosted by Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was held in Xi 'an. More than 10 prestigious experts in the field of vertigo across China and over 300 professionals from more than 100 affiliations in Shaanxi province, Gansu province, Qinghai province, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning province, Henan province, Shanxi province and Chongqing attended the meeting, aiming to showcase novel concepts and charisma and jointly discuss the controversies, difficulties and hot spots in the diagnosis and treatment of vertigo.

This event was hosted by Shaanxi Province Health Care Association, the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, Center for Vertigo Diseases of Medical Alliance of XJTU and organized by the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Medical University. Professor Zhang Shaoqiang, Chairman of Center for Vertigo Diseases of Medical Alliance of XJTU and Director of Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery of our hospital, delivered an opening speech.

After the voting process, the member list of the 1^st Professional Committee of Vertigo of Shaanxi Province Health Care Association was approved. Lyu Yongjie, President of Shaanxi Province Health Care Association, presented the plaque to Zhang Shaoqiang, Chairman of the 1^st Professional Committee of Vertigo. Chairman Zhang Shaoqiang presented the certificates to Deputy Chairman Han Jianfeng, Deputy Chairman Xing Juanli, Secretary General Zhang Ting and other 14 members. Subsequently, Chairman Zhang Shaoqiang delivered an inaugural speech. Professor Kong Weijia, Director of Otorhinolaryngology Institute of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Chairman of Vertigo Branch of China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Healthcare (CPAM), was employed as Academic Consultant of Professional Committee of Vertigo of Shaanxi Province Health Care Association.

At the 6^th Silk Road Vertigo Forum, prestigious experts in the field of vertigo throughout China brought 16 intriguing lectures, sharing their unique insights andabundant experience in the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of vertigo diseases, which were highly comprehensible and inclusive of the trendy topics. The number of online hits reached nearly 20,000.

The establishment of Professional Committee of Vertigo in Shaanxi province showcases the influence of Hearing & Vertigo Center of our hospital in Shaanxi province and promotes the standardized construction and development of diagnosis and treatment of vertigo, providing a top-notched learning platform and opportunity for clinicians to standardize diagnosis and treatment of vertigo. Besides, it also sets a benchmark model for continuing education for establishing a comprehensive system for diagnosis and treatment of vertigo, standardizing technical operation and cultivating talents in the field of vertigo across China.
