On May 16, 2021 Chang 'an International Cardiovascular Forum (CIC2021) in conjunction with the Annual Congress of Shaanxi Cardiovascular Specialty Alliance concluded in Xi 'an.
The forum consisted of 5 online channels featuring 53 academic sessions and more than 450 intriguing academic reports. Over 320 cardiovascular experts from all over the country were invited to participate in the lectures, anchors and discussions. Up to the end of the forum, more than 100,000 participants at home and abroad attended the conference, watched online and delivered interaction. The forum covered 260 cities from 11 countries and regions worldwide.
CIC2021 was held both "online and offline". The academic areas cover multiple frontier sections in the cardiovascular field, such as interventional cardiology of coronary heart disease, cardiac pacing and electrophysiology, hypertension and metabolic syndrome, heart failure, structural heart disease, complex case discussion and cardiovascular nursing,etc. More than 50 themed forums intimately associated with the growth of frontline cardiovascular medical practitioners were organized, such as cardiac ultrasound imaging forum, chest pain forum, pacing electrophysiology forum, CIED infection themed forum, arrhythmia drug treatment forum, basic forum, hypertension forum, and cardiovascular disease prevention and control ability improvement forum for general practitioners.
On May 14, the Summit Forum was officially launched. Academician Ge Junbo from Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, Academician Han Yaling from General Hospital of Northern Theater Command, Professor Ma Changsheng from Beijing Anzhen Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University, and Professor Huo Yong of Peking University First Hospital and other top-notched experts in the field of diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases were invited to interpret the latest viewpoints and bring a novel perspective from the angle of medical development, focusing on the new progress on antithrombotic therapy for coronary heart disease, development and prospect of pan-vascular medicine, the rhythm control era of atrial fibrillation and the development of interventional therapy for coronary heart disease in Chinese mainland.
In the second session of the Summit Forum, Academician Zhang Yun from Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, Academician Gu Dongfeng from Southern University of Science and Technology, Professor Zhang Shu from Fuwai Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Professor Huang Dejia from West China Hospital and Professor Huang Congxin from Wuhan University People's Hospital were specially invited to deliver comprehensive and multi-perspective discussion and prediction of the frontier topics covering ISCHEMIA test, current situation and prospect of prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in China, progress on 2020 guidelines for arrhythmia therapy, catheter ablation combined with left atrial appendage occlusion for atrial fibrillation,etc.
On May 15, the opening ceremony of the offline conference was grandly held in Xi 'an. Professor Mou Jianjun from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) presided over the opening ceremony and Professor Yuan Zuyi from our hospital delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He highlighted that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CIC2021 was grandly held both online and offline. Prestigious experts and scholars in the cardiovascular field in Northwest China gathered to discuss research progresses, analyze the guidelines and promote clinical application, aiming to spread the latest progresses upon international frontier topics, domestic clinical trials and latest guidelines in the cardiovascular field through themed lectures, case anatomy and practical demonstration.
