On January 3, the Ranking List of National Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Drug Clinical Trials Institutions was released for the first time. The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) ranked 30th in China and first in Northwest China. The Organizing Committee of China Forums of Clinical Research Capacity Building and Human Research Participants Protection (CCHRPP) organized an expert working group in this field to form the CCHRPP Ranking List of National GCP Drug Clinical Trials Institutions according to the statistical analysis data of CDE "Drug Clinical Trial Registration and Information Publicity Platform".
The weight of each evaluation index is determined based on the quantity of experimental projects from 2018 to 2020, and the value indexes and the weights of research and development are simultaneously considered for comprehensive scoring. A multi-dimensional and multi-level index system is constructed covering institutions, ethics, researchers, project operation scale, industry influence and reputation, etc. The ranking list has a low degree of correlation with other aspects of a certain hospital, whereas it can reflect the contribution of drug clinical trial institutions to new drug research and development, operation and maintenance scale to a certain extent, reflecting the support and promotion for biomedical research and development by a certain hospital.
In 1998, our hospital was approved as a National Drug Clinical Trial Institution. After more than two decades of development, 45 disciplines of drug clinical trials have been registered. Under the tremendous promotion and guidance of the Special Project of Major New Drug Development in the 13th Five-Year Plan, our hospital will be persistently devoted to completing the clinical trial projects with high quality and contributing to the innovation of pharmaceutical industry and building a healthy China.
