On January 4, "Appointment Ceremony of Dual-employed Academician" for Professor Ma Ding, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Director of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in conjunction with Special Report on Discipline Constructionwere held in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU).
A delegate led by Academician Ma Ding inspected the Biobank, Precision Medicine Research Center and Scientific Research Platform for Talents of our hospital, and subsequently attended the special report meeting of the discipline of obstetrics and gynecology to learn about the development history of this discipline, daily operation of the department, annual quantity of surgery and the application of national science funding projects. Academician Ma Ding introduced the overall situation of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the clinical work, team building and clinical research progress on gynecological tumors in recent years. Bilateral sides jointly discussed the present situation of obstetrics and gynecology, and the direction and mode of cooperation in clinical trials on gynecological tumors.
Subsequently, President Shi Bingyin and Academician Ma Ding signed the Employment Contract of Dual-Employed Academician and the Strategic Cooperation Agreement between National Center for Clinical Medical Research of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU to Establish Shaanxi Sub-center of National Center for Clinical Medical Research of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and presented the Letter of Appointment to Professor Ma Ding. Yan Hong, Vice President of XJTU, Academician Ma Ding and President Shi Bingyin jointly unveiled the Shaanxi Sub-center of National Center for Clinical Medical Research on Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Northwest Studio of Ma Ding Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Academician Ma Ding expressed that he will spare no effort to fulfill his duties and advance Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU to a new height in terms of platform construction, discipline construction, scientific research, talent training and team building, aiming to contribute to the construction of obstetrics and gynecology discipline and a first-class university.
At the end of the meeting, Professor Ma Ding delivered a special lecture entitled "Self-introduction of a Senior Director of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology". Combining his own experience of study abroad and then returning to motherland, he encouraged medical staff to boldly face the failure, make arduous efforts to climb the peak of scientific research. He also shared his valuable experience in how he led Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology to overcome countless difficulties and become a first-class discipline in China. His lecture has pinpointed the direction of discipline development of our hospital and provided valuable guidance for the long-term development of talent training and fast-track development of obstetrics and gynecology and related disciplines in our hospital.
