From December 11 to 12, 2020, the 12th Chang 'an Gastrointestinal Surgery Conference in conjunction with the 2020 Annual Meeting of Professional Committee of Gastrointestinal Disease Prevention and Control of Shaanxi Province Health Care Association, co-hosted by the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and Shaanxi Province Health Care Association, were held in Xi 'an. Professor Sun Xuejun, Director of Speciality of Surgery, Director of Department of General Surgery and Chairman of Professional Committee of Gastrointestinal Disease Prevention and Control of Shaanxi Province Health Care Association, served as President of the conference.
On the morning of December 12, the 12th Chang 'an Gastrointestinal Surgery Conference in conjunction with the 2020 Annual Meeting of Professional Committee of Gastrointestinal Disease Prevention and Control of Shaanxi Province Health Care Association were grandly launched in our hospital, presided over by Professor Fan Lin, Deputy Director of Department of General Surgery of our hospital.
In the themed lecture session, multiple prestigious experts in the field of gastrointestinal surgery delivered intriguing presentations on the hot and challenging issues in the field of gastrointestinal tumor treatment, including the clinical diagnosis and treatment of peritoneal metastasis of colorectal cancer in recent years, the latest trends in the diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer and the skills and thoughts of function-preserved and reconstruction surgery of early gastric cancer, and the surgical diagnosis and treatment strategy for gastrointestinal stromal tumors from the surgical perspective. In addition, Professor Qiao Qing from Tangdu Hospital, Professor Yang Jianjun from Xijing Hospital, Professor Wu Tao from the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, Professor Qiu Jian from Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, Professor She Junjun and Professor Huo Xiongwei from our hospital selected a large quantity of clinical cases and vividly introduced the surgical design and anatomical characteristics of left colon cancer, current situation and controversy of perigastric lymph node dissection, surgical treatment of ulcerative colitis, surgical experience of NOSES operation, the current situation of Da Vinci robot-assisted surgery for the middle and low rectal cancer and radical resection of sigmoid cancer in different segments,etc.
Subsequently, excellent surgical demonstration was started. The teams led by Professor Sun Xuejun, Professor Che Xiangming and Professor She Junjun from Department of General Surgery in our hospital demonstrated laparoscopic radical operation of sigmoid cancer (NOSES V), total laparoscopic radical gastrectomy+Roux-en-Yanastomosis (Overlap) and robot-assisted radical resection of rectal cancer, respectively. Three operations were live streaming to the online audience. Professor Liao Xinhua delivered surgical anatomical operation in an explicit and fluent manner. Professor Sun Xuejun showcased the minimally invasive concept of NOSES surgery to the extreme. Professor She Junjun successfully represented the flexible and precision advantages of Da Vinci robot-assisted surgery. Subsequently, the teams led by Professor She Junjun, Professor Zhao Wei and Professor Wei Guangbing demonstrated robot-assisted radical right hemicolectomy, total laparoscopic radical proximal gastrectomyand laparoscopic TAPP, respectively. Professor She Junjun overcame the challenges of the giant tumors in patients and performed the surgery in an explicit and precision manner. Professor Zhao Wei perfectly showcased the skills of lymph node dissection and fine hemostasis. Professor Wei Guangbing accurately and skillfully identified the anatomical structure of the inguinal region during surgery. More than 11,000 viewers have watched the online demonstration.
