On December 5, 2020, the inaugural conference of Chinese Alliance for Enterostomy Nursing (CAEN) was held in Guangzhou. A total of 100 hospitals nationwide attended the conference. The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was granted as Deputy Chief Affiliation of CAEN, the only candidate in Shaanxi province.
Chief Head Nurse Qiao Lina was responsible for organizing the application issues. With the enormous support of Xin Xia, Director of Nursing Department and Sun Xuejun, Director of Department General Surgery, the ET team made joint efforts, eventually passed the evaluation of comprehensive capability and obtained the title of "Deputy Chief Affiliation of Chinese Alliance for Enterostomy Nursing".
During the first session of the conference, President Tan Huiying introduced the selection process of each deputy chief affiliation, the standing committee and committee member affiliations. Through comprehensive analysis and evaluation of the comprehensive capability of enterostomy nursing care in each hospital, including discipline influence, quantity of cases, influence of enterostomy specialist and alternative factors, 20 deputy chief affiliations, 27 standing committee affiliations and 52 committee member affiliations were granted. Chief Head Nurse Qiao Lina received the plaque on behalf of the ET team and presented gifts and delivered speeches as a representative of hundreds of hospitals across China.
In the second session, 4 prestigious experts in enterostomy nursing were invited to deliver academic lectures. Chief Head Nurse Qiao Lina gave a lecture entitled "Practice of Whole-process Management Mode for Patients undergoing Multi-dimensional ostomy". She introduced the development of enterostomy nursing specialty in our hospital from three dimensions of patient, nurse and treatment-nursing integration. Her novel teaching content and intriguing narrative were highly recognized by the audience. In particular, the construction of specialty team and the whole-process patient management mode received widespread approval and attention from other affiliations.
As a deputy chief affiliation, the ET team of our hospital will take the responsibility to forge ahead to enhance the quality of life of patients and drive the development of enterostomy nursing specialty!
