On October 27, 2020, the 4th Greater China MRC Case Competition was successfully held in Shanghai Children's Medical Center. Zou Qian, graduate student from Department of Stomatology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), grabbed the first prize in the case competition.
With the advancement and development of preventive medicine, the concept of early orthodontic treatment has received increasing attention in the international orthodontic field. Among them, the muscle function appliance MRC plays a positive role in the early functional orthodontic treatment due to comfortable wearing, convenient use and high efficacy. Department of Stomatology of our hospital has also achieved excellent results in the process of early orthodontic treatment.
MRC Case Competition received the online submission. After evaluated and screened by professional judges, 10 physicians were eligible for the final competition and invited to attend the training courses and case presentation competition in Shanghai. On the morning of October 27, Zhu Min, Director of Department of Craniomaxillofacial Surgey of Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University, was invited to deliver the professional training course entitled "Early thinking and experience of the upper airway interpretation and management of class II malocclusion".
The case competition kicked off on the afternoon of October 27. Chen Yao, Director of Department of Pediatric Dentistry of Stomatology Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University, and President Wang Li, lecturer of MRC in the Greater China served as the judges. Ten outstanding physicians entering the MRC Case Competition shared the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, conducted relevant literature review and discussed the difficulties and controversies in the process of diagnosis and treatment. After intense competition, the Top Three MRC Cases and Excellent Cases were selected based on the on-site scoring. Subsequently, an awarding ceremony was also held. The MRC case provided by Zou Qian, graduate student from Department of Stomatology of our hospital, received unanimous recognitionand grabbed the first prize in the MRC Case Competition.
