On November 2, the first Magnetic Surgery Clinic in China was approved and officially opened in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), which signifies the fast-track development of magnetic surgery in China.
On the first day in Magnetic Surgery Clinic, Professor Lyu Yi offered consultation to three liver transplantation recipients undergoing magnetic surgery for postoperative biliary stricture. He also explicitly informed the disease conditions, conducted image evaluation and delivered preliminary therapeutic plans for several other patients.
On the same day, Magnetic Surgery Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) of our hospital was officially established. More than 30 participants, including President Shi Bingyin from our hospital, Liu Na, Deputy Director of Bureau of Hospital Administration of Health Commission of Shaanxi Province, relevant leaders from our hospital and Directors of MDT collaboration departments, attended the ceremony. President Shi Bingyin and Deputy Director Liu Na delivered important instructions and speeches regarding the opening of Magnetic Surgery Clinic and the establishment of Magnetic Surgery MDT. The launching ceremony was presided over by Wu Zheng, Director of Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery.
Magnetic Surgery MDT is composed of multidisciplinary experts from Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Department of Thoracic Surgery, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Department of Gastroenterology, Department of General Surgery, Department of Kidney Transplantation, Department of Urology, Department of Anesthesia Surgery, Department of Breast Surgery, and National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Precision Surgery and Regenerative Medicine, aiming to achieve the optimal therapeutic plans for patients through multidisciplinary consultation among relevant experts.
As the first medical expert of Magnetic Surgery Clinic and leader of Magnetic Surgery MDT, Professor Lyu Yi highlighted that the opening of Magnetic Surgery Clinic is a milestone event for the disciplinary construction of magnetic surgery. The establishment of Magnetic Surgery MDT will promote the application of advanced research results in magnetic surgery to treat clinical diseases in a more standardized, scientific and effective manner. The launching of Magnetic Surgery Clinic in our hospital paves an innovative and effective way for more patients who require magnetic surgical treatment. It significantly translates scientific research outcomes into "people’s health-oriented" clinical practice, and better serves the people's health by using the cutting-edge magnetic surgery technologies.
Associate Research Fellow Yan Xiaopeng, Vice Leader of Magnetic Surgery MDT, made a brief report on the clinical application of magnetic surgery technology in our hospital. All members of Magnetic Surgery MDT delivered heated discussion regarding major issues related to clinical application of magnetic surgery technology,actively offered advice and suggestions and expected to take the advantages of Magnetic Surgery MDT to better serve the patients.
