From October 16 to 17, 2020, the 13th "Battle on Huashan Mountain" Gastrointestinal Tumor Forum in Western China, hosted by Professional Committee of Colorectal Tumor of Shaanxi Medical Doctor Association, Professional Committee of Tumor Hyperthermia of China Anti-cancer Association and Professional Committee of Esophageal Cancer of Shaanxi Anti-cancer Association, and organized by Departmentof Oncology Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was successfully held in Xi 'an. The forum was proceeded both online and offline. Prestigious digestive tract cancer experts and industry colleagues from all over the country participated in the forum. More than 50,000 online viewers watched the live broadcast of this forum.
On October 16, Professor Dang Chengxue, Director of Department of Oncology Surgery of our hospital, delivered a speech. Professor Wang Guiyu from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University, Professor You Jun from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University along with Professor Zhu Kun and Professor Xia Peng from Department of Oncology Surgery of our hospitalgave live-streaming surgical demonstrations of "laparoscopic radical resection for gastric cancer and colorectal cancer" and delivered instant interaction and answering questions with colleagues.
On October 17, the main session of the forum was launched. Experts in the field of gastrointestinal cancer across China were invited to deliver keynote speeches both online and offline, offering detailed and cutting-edge reports upon gastrointestinal cancer surgery, internal medicine, imaging, and palliative care,etc. Meantime, MDT teams from Xi 'an, Xianyang and Hanzhong brought typical case reports, highlighting the significance of MDT decision-making and precise diagnosis and treatment from the real-world perspective.
The online branch forums on esophageal malignant tumor, tumor hyperthermia and clinical nursing were set up. Relevant experts from all over the country shared the research progress on the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal malignant tumors from different perspectives.
At the branch forum of esophageal malignant tumor, Professor Li Zhigang from Shanghai Chest Hospital, Professor Li Yin from Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Professor Jiang Tao from Tang Du Hospital of Air Force Medical University, Professor Zhang Wei from the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, as well as Professor Chang Dongmin and Professor Xia Peng from our hospital were invited to illustrate the highlights and difficulties in the diagnosis and treatment of esophageal cancer from varying angles. During the branch forum of tumor hyperthermia, 2020 Annual Congress of Intraperitoneal Hyperthermic Perfusion Chemotherapy Group of Professional Committee of Tumor Hyperthermia of China Anti-cancer Association was held. Professor Li Yan from Beijing Shijitan Hospital of Capital Medical University, Professor Sun Jianhai from the Third People’s Hospital of Hubei Province, Professor Yin Chunzhu from Jilin Cancer Hospital and Professor Xu Gang from our hospital delivered keynote speeches, illustrating the latest progress upon the clinical application of intraperitoneal hyperthermic perfusion chemotherapy, covering basic research, clinical trials, standardized operation and consensus,etc.At the branch forum on clinical nursing, Xing Hong, Deputy Director of Nursing Department of Shanghai People's Hospital was invited to give a speech entitled "Implantation and Management of Venous Access Port". Zhao Linfang, Chief Nurse from Sir Run RunShaw Hospital of Zhejiang University, delivered a presentation entitled “Medical Glue-induced Skin Injury”.
