To implement academic achievements related to Shaanxi province during the China-Central Asia Summit and deepen regional medical cooperation along "the Belt and Road", the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) established a long-term cooperation mechanism with medical institutions from Kyrgyzstan and bilateral sides carried out health talent exchanges according to relevant work arrangements of Health Commission of Shaanxi Province. Recently, the first-batch of 11 medical staff sent by the Kyrgyzstan government arrived at FAH and started their academic visit and study for nearly 1 month. Department of Urology undertook the teaching and training task for Doctor Nursultan from Osh state in Kyrgyzstan, providing systematic course design and clinical practice guidance to elevate his professional capability.
Department of Urology has made a specific study plan for the trainees and signed a training plan. During over 20 days, advanced study physicians participated in the handover of departments, in-department training and case discussion, followed the trainers to observe the whole process of patient management, and deeply experienced core procedures such as ward rounds, medical examination and surgery.

On May 16, all medical staff from Department of Urology held a farewell ceremony in the office of Ward I. Vice President Li Lei presented the training certificate to Doctor Nursultan, looking forward to mutual academic changes between medical teams from two countries.

On behalf of trainee teachers, Professor Zhu Guodong presented flowers to Doctor Nursultan. Doctor Nursultan thanked the leaders of Department of Urology for their care and guidance, and Professor Fan Jinhai, Professor Zhu Guodong, Professor Li Xiang and Professor Yang Lin for their explicit guidance. He highlighted that "This experience has made me feel the professionalism and enthusiasm of Chinese doctors. Looking forward to meeting Chinese doctors in Osh state in the future and wish everyone smooth and successful work."
This training program for foreign-trained doctors sets up a new channel for international medical cooperation in Department of Urology. In the future, Department of Urology of FAH will continually strengthen international academic exchange, cultivate outstanding medical talents from countries and regions along "the Belt and Road" through diverse patterns, persistently enhance international influence of this discipline and contribute FAH’s wisdom to the development of urology worldwide.
