Professor Liu Li from Department of Neonatology invited to conduct academic exchanges at Kazakhstan Neonatal Symposium II

On March 15, 2025, Professor Liu Li, head of Department of Neonatology in the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was invited to attend Kazakhstan Neonatal Symposium II in Astana, hosted by Kazakhstan University Medical Center (UMC). At the opening ceremony, Akmaral ALNAZAROVA, Minister of Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, delivered a welcoming speech. Perinatal and neonatal experts from over 10 countries in Europe and along the Belt and Road such as Russia, Norway, Poland, Lithuania, Turkey and other countries were invited to deliver lectures, respectively. As a Chinese representative, Professor Liu Li contributed a thematic lecture entitled "Follow-up and Management of Premature Infants after Discharge from Hospital in China" in English and conducted academic exchanges with the audience. She shared experience of neonatal follow-up in China. Moreover, she also illustrated the pivotal role of Xi'an as the starting point of the Silk Road, basic profile of medicine, teaching and research in FAH and cooperation opportunities, captivating widespread attention and recognition from the participants.

After the meeting, Professor Liu Li was invited to visit Women and Children’s Hospital affiliated to UMC and Department of Neonatology and carried out in-depth exchanges with Kazakhstan counterparts, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation and exchanges, highlighting the important role of FAH as an international medical exchange and cooperation center radiating "the Belt and Road" and gaining high honor for FAH.
