From December 20 to 21, 2024, Standardized Training for Resident Physician in Ultrasound Medicine 2024 in conjunction with National Ultrasound Skill Competition for Resident Physician, hosted by Chinese Medical Doctor Association, was held in Wuhan, China. More than 600 professional experts and backbone physicians from over 300 professional ultrasound medicine bases in China attended the competition. On behalf of Shaanxi province team, Song Yan, Deputy Director of Department of Ultrasound Medicine of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was selected as the team leader. A team composed of physicians in the specialty of ultrasound medicine from FAH, Xijing Hospital, Tangdu Hospital, Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, Northwest Women and Children's Hospital, the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU and Xi'an Central Hospital participated in the competition and obtained excellent results.

Ruan Litao, President of Ultrasound Physician Branch of Shaanxi Medical Doctor Association and Director of Department of Ultrasound Medicine of FAH, shared experience regarding the teaching content and training management of this base during the training session.

In the demonstration session by young instructors, 8 teams from Hubei, Hunan, Henan, Shaanxi, Anhui and Jiangsu provinces, Shanghai and Chongqing participated in the competition. Tai Minghui, Deputy Director of Department of Ultrasound Medicine of FAH, delivered a topic of "An unnegligible mass—Ultrasound diagnosis of hernia", displaying vivid demonstration, concise and innovative teaching and fascinating explanation. He showcased the elegance of young physicians and grabbed the second place.

In the session of operation skills demonstration, Zhan Wentao, a resident physician from Department of Ultrasound Medicine of FAH, ranked the second place in the intense skill competition through solid basic skills and precise operation on behalf of Shaanxi province team.

In the diagnostic capability competition, Xie Xinya, a young physician from Department of Ultrasound Medicine in FAH, displayed excellent clinical diagnostic thinking and grabbed the second place after several rounds of fierce competition.
