Recently, Professor Mohamed Gamal El-Din Abdel Hamed El-Ashhab, President of Faculty of Medicine of Benha University in Egypt, led a delegation to visit Department of Orthopedics of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) to carry out academic exchange activities.
Director Yin Zhanhai explicitly illustrated FAH’s latest development in the field of scientific research of orthopedics, especially in orthopedic regenerative medicine, the application of 3D printing technology in orthopedics and scientific research achievements in the field of precision medicine, receiving high recognition from Professor Mohamed’s delegation. Professor Mohamed expressed admiration for the scientific research achievements and international development of Department of Orthopedics of FAH, and showcased strong interests in potential cooperation between bilateral sides in the future. Subsequently, the delegation visited the Operation Center and learned about the advanced medical equipment and operation process of FAH. Bilateral sides conducted in-depth discussion regarding the technical development, surgical innovation and clinical case management in the field of orthopedics, and shared their own experiences and viewpoints.
Finally, Professor Mohamed sincerely invited Director Yin Zhanhai’s team to attend the 77th Annual International Congress of the Egyptian Orthopaedic Association in Cairo, Egypt in November 2025, hoping that this academic exchange event will further strengthen mutual cooperation and communication between two institutions and jointly promote the development of global orthopedics. This invitation not only signifies high recognition of academic exchanges between two sides, but also represents a symbol of in-depth development of international medical cooperation and technological sharing under the "Belt and Road Initiative". By promoting intimate cooperation between China and Egypt in the field of orthopedic medicine, bilateral sides can better integrate resources, share research results, accelerate the application of innovative technologies, and subsequently enhance orthopedic medical levels worldwide.
This exchange event lays a solid foundation for profound cooperation between Department of Orthopedics and international counterparts, and further enhances academic reputation and influence of Department of Orthopedics of FAH. In the future, bilateral sides will establish concrete cooperation in more fields, especially under the framework of the "Belt and Road Initiative", actively promote technology transfer and talent training, jointly promote the development and innovation of global orthopedic medicine, work together to encounter and resolve global challenges of orthopedic diseases and make due contributions.
